Our Facilities

The Magpie Centre is proud to offer a warm, welcoming, and well-equipped environment where riders, families, volunteers, and staff come together to enjoy everything our centre has to offer.

At the heart of the Centre is our beautifully maintained yard, where you’ll often see our dedicated team and volunteers grooming, feeding, and caring for the ponies. This is also where we tack up before lessons and make sure each horse is happy and ready to go. Our office is based here too – pop in and you’ll be greeted by our friendly administrator, Abbie, who helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have a large indoor school, which allows us to run lessons all year round, whatever the weather. The school features a comfortable seating area, where family members, carers, and visitors can relax and watch sessions in progress. This versatile space also plays host to events throughout the year – including our popular annual craft fair.

Outdoors, we’re lucky to have a peaceful sensory garden – a lovely space to enjoy nature, take a quiet moment, or explore different textures, sounds, and scents. Nearby, we also have a special area where we host our much-loved Tea with a Pony sessions – a gentle, uplifting experience designed especially for those living with memory loss or long-term conditions. It’s a place where stories are shared, connections are made, and ponies bring joy in the most heartwarming way.

Set within the stunning grounds of Wallington Hall, the Centre is surrounded by peaceful countryside and woodland tracks. When the weather allows, we love to head out on scenic hacks across the farmland – an experience our riders, volunteers, and ponies all enjoy. These accessible routes are also perfect for our carriage driving sessions.

Whether it’s a quiet morning on the yard, a woodland ride, or a community event in the school, our facilities help make every day at the Magpie Centre special.
