We’ve had a busy and exciting month here at the Magpie Centre!
On Wednesday 23rd April, a group of WNRDA volunteers attended the Your Local Paper Local Hero Awards at the Corn Exchange. We had nominated our wonderful volunteer Jan Calvert for Fundraiser of the Year — and while she didn’t win, we’re incredibly proud to share that she made it into the final three out of many deserving nominations. A huge well done to Jan for this well-earned recognition of her hard work and dedication!
After a restful Easter break, lessons resumed 28th April. Both riders and horses have come back refreshed and ready to go.
Also this month, the yard had a mini spruce-up, with both stable blocks receiving a fresh lick of paint – thank you to everyone who helped brighten up the space!
We’re also thrilled to announce that the Magpie Centre is now an official Pony Club Linked Centre! This is a fantastic step forward in offering even more opportunities for our younger riders – check out our separate news post for more details.
Finally, we’re pleased to share that two members of staff have completed Mental Health First Aid training, ensuring we continue to provide a safe, supportive, and understanding environment for all.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support – we look forward to a fantastic May ahead!
