Celebrating Success at the Downham Market Festival!

This weekend, community spirit was in full swing as The Magpie Centre proudly took part in the Downham Market Festival – and what a day it was!

Our amazing team of volunteers went above and beyond, putting together a show-stopping float and running a warm and welcoming stall that truly captured the heart of what we do. From friendly conversations to sharing more about our mission, it was a brilliant opportunity to connect with the local community and spread awareness of our work.

And we’re thrilled to share some exciting news…

We won joint first place for Best Dressed Float! 

Yes, that’s right! The creativity, colour, and charm of our float didn’t go unnoticed – and it’s all thanks to the incredible dedication of our volunteers who brought it to life. Your hard work and passion absolutely shone on the day, and we couldn’t be prouder!

A huge thank you goes out to H & C Beart Ltd, who generously provided the lorry for our float and made a donation following our win. Your ongoing support helps make events like this possible, and we’re so grateful for your generosity. 

Together, we raised an amazing £417.41! 

Every penny goes toward supporting the work we do at the Magpie Centre – providing life-enhancing riding and carriage driving experiences for people with physical and learning disabilities. Whether you gave your time, donated, or simply stopped by for a chat, thank you. Your support makes a real difference.

This event reminded us just how special our community is. With smiles, support, and shared moments, it was a day to remember – and we’re already looking forward to next year!
