We are delighted to share some wonderful news – following our latest veterinary testing, The Magpie Centre has now received the all-clear, and we are preparing to reopen.
Our horses are all well and will begin returning to work during the week commencing 27th July 2026, allowing them time to safely settle back into their routines before we welcome participants and volunteers back from August 10th 2026.
From then, we will gradually resume all of our activities, including:
- Riding Lessons
- Carriage Driving
- Equine Assisted Therapy
- Tea with a Pony
- The Nest (Returning September 2026)
This is a moment we have all been looking forward to, and we couldn't have reached it without the incredible support of our community.
Thank You
Over the past few weeks, we have been overwhelmed by the kindness shown to The Magpie Centre. From donations and fundraising events to messages of encouragement and people sharing our appeals, the support has been truly humbling.
To our volunteers, participants, families, staff, supporters, local businesses, fundraisers and everyone who stood beside us during this difficult period > thank you.
Your generosity has helped us continue caring for our horses and preparing for the day we could welcome everyone back.
Recovery Continues
While reopening is a huge milestone, it is also the beginning of our recovery.
During our temporary closure, many of our regular activities had to pause, resulting in a significant loss of income. At the same time, the daily costs of caring for our horses and maintaining the centre continued.
Although we are excited to reopen, there is still a considerable financial gap to bridge, and our fundraising campaign will continue as we rebuild over the coming months.
If you are able to support us with a donation, organise a fundraiser or simply share our story, every contribution, large or small, will help secure the future of The Magpie Centre and the life-changing services we provide.
We Can't Wait to Welcome You Back
Our team will be in touch with participants and families to confirm the return of lessons, therapy sessions, carriage driving, Tea with a Pony experiences and The Nest.
We are looking forward to seeing familiar faces return, hearing laughter around the centre once again and watching our incredible horses do what they love most, helping people build confidence, independence and joy.
Thank you for standing with us.
We can't wait to welcome you back to The Magpie Centre.
